Level 1 - Inspection (IO)
- Confirm quantity received.
- Inspect condition of packaging.
- Verify date code and lot code with OEM for validity.
- Physical inspection for visual, coplanarity, dimension, and
lead integrity.
- Re-package.
- Level 1 provides no electrical testing.
Level 2 - Authenticity Inspection (AI)
- Level 1 plus continuity test.
- Continuity test passes current through all pins of the device to verify no circuits are broken.
- Sample Decapsulation and solderability inspection.
- Level 2 does no test specific parameters on the device.
Level 3 - DC Functional (DCFT)
- Level 1 plus DC functional test, sample Decapsulation, X-ray, and
solderability inspections.
- This is a test of the DC characteristics defined on the datasheet.
The specific voltage;in to certain pins results in specific voltage out of certain pins.
- Level 3 test direct current characteristics but not parametric
performance.
Level 4 - Functional Test (FT)
- Level 1 plus functional test
- Function testing is different for every device; it does not test the parameters of the device, it tests the operational performance and programming of the device.
Level 5 - Full Functional Test (FFT)
- Level 1 plus full functional test.
- Full functionality testing test all parameters on the device to 100% of the range defined on the device datasheet.
- Testing is performed at ambient temperature.
